I Looked out the Window and What did I See??

Over a foot of snow out front, and in back too!! The measurement was taken just outside the garage door, and I know that it is deeper in other parts of the yard, I think I measured in the shallow part..

This picture was out Ashley's window.

Okay, I had to post this even though it is not our house. If you look at the lump in the middle on the right; that is their car!!! I feel so bad, we are gonna have to help them dig it out next week.

This is taken from right at the front door.
Well, this storm is still going and we are supposed to expect another 4-6 inches of snow today and then the temps are not supposed to get above 28 till sometime next week. To top it off there is another storm in the works that should dump more snow on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A Harry Situation

For those that do not remember we added Harry to our family last Christmas. He is a sweet, fat cat and we love him. Lately with all the snow and storms we have been running our space heater all the time!!! It is a pain but better than being cold. Anyway, Harry love to lay by it.

He even reaches out and places his paw in the dish. I would think that it would be way too hot for that but he continues to do it all the time :) So I thought that I would share some warm footage with you all.

What Do You Get??

While making a triple batch of pizza dough in my wonderful mixer I accidentally dropped my good 1 cup measuring cup in the bowl. A split second later the mixer seized up and after I turned it off, this is what I pulled out.
Sad huh?!?!?

I looked out the Window/Snow Day #2

So after the long weekend we woke up to this yesterday. Lots of snow and lots of fun.

Now before I get any angry emails. Austin had had on his jacket but was going inside and I asked for a quick pic before he quit for the morning.

So as of right now VA is in a state of emergency awaiting the big storm to hit tomorrow. Schools have closed already and there isn't even any snow coming yet. They are expecting 12- 24 inches and winds up to 20 miles and hour. We are all set for the weekend inside :) Wish us luck.

Snow Day #1

Last Friday it snowed and the kiddos had a long weekend since there was a teacher work day on both Friday and Monday. We went sledding at my friend, Kim's, house on Saturday and the kids had a blast!

My Boys

These two are really special to me. They are the men in my life. I am so lucky to have them here to take care of me and the girls in my life.

I loved these pictures of Lewis. I rarely get a good picture of him since he is such a doof ball. I love him so much and hope that he knows how much I appreciate all that he does for me.
LOVE YOU SWEETIE!!

Rockin' Out

This year Ashley wanted to sign up for every activity. One of the ones that she actually did participate in was chorus. Since they had the huge storm in the December they had their first concert in January. It was fantastic!!! The chorus is made up of the 5th and 6th graders at the school.

Ashley had a duet on her recorder in one of the songs.

They all put on their shades and sang "Rockin' Robin".

Derby Days

It is time for Austin's first Pinewood Derby!! I was really surprised that Lewis was just as excited as Austin (since Lewis really wasn't into Scouts as a kid; or adult).
Austin Decided that he wanted a truck and not a car so they worked and worked.

And they got this truck!! So awesome, right?! I thought so but the truck didn't make it down the tracks. To our good fortune the Elders had made a car with Lewis and Austin and we were able to race it. It is the black car in the picture below.

I was so proud of Austin. He really was a great sport. The car didn't win the fastest car but it did win the prettiest car :)
GO ELDERS!!

I had to get a pic of all the boys sitting on the stage. They had to sit there unless their car was being raced.

New Toys

Santa was very nice to me at Christmas. I got a new lens and a LightScoop. So tonight while Natalie was taking her bath I took out my new toys and played :)

Natalie got a new toy too.. just kidding she stole the spatula while I was undressing her and it totally intrigued her the rest of her bath.

Austin always wants a pic too. I love that Natalie is only interested in her spatula.

This was yesterday, Natalie chillin' with her monkey and a cookie.

Family Pics at the New House

Mom and Dad wanted some new Family pictures and Mom really wanted to take them at the new house.

I think that this was the shot that Mom dreamed of. She talked about it all week and really liked the idea of all the raw materials in the pictures. I really hope that she was happy with the outcome :)

For a Good Cause

Side Note: The entire trip to ABQ, Monica was in love with her Uncle Lewis. It was so sweet to watch her always seek him out to sit with. On Christmas every gift she opened was from Uncle Lewis. We finally had to have Lewis give her a candy cane so that she would have something that he had given her :)

Monica and Anna decided that they wanted to donated their hair to be used to make wigs for cancer patients. I was so touched that they wanted me to make the cut.

Monica ended up with 8 inch ponytails to donate and Anna with 11 inch ponytails. I think that the short cuts turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself :)
